A few Vancouvers
from the VYA Chairman

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Vancouver Yachts Association website.

This site is being updated during the winter and will be relaunched early in 2014.

For our members it will provide an improved, centralised source of information and communication, which previously has been somewhat restricted due to the dispersed nature of our membership. For non-members who either own, or aspire to own, a Vancouver yacht we hope that you find the content helpful and enjoyable. Please browse through the public pages and see what we have to offer. If you like what you see why not become a member? Joining information can be found on the Association page.

I wish you all a happy New Year and good sailing in 2013

About the VYA
The purpose of the Vancouver Yachts Association (VYA) is to promote friendship and contact amongst owners of Vancouver yachts and to encourage the sharing of information and cruising experience.

Formed in 1986, the Association now has a membership of around 120. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in Vancouver yachts - owners and potential owners, including non-UK residents.

Administration is kept as simple as possible, the Association having two honorary officers - a chairman and secretary.

The Association is non-commercial and is independent of any other organisation.

Association activities include an Annual Owners' Dinner, for convenience, usually held at a local hostelry on the same day as the annual Open Day (in October/November) at Northshore Yachts Itchenor (the builders of Vancouver yachts). Rallies and other informal gatherings are co-ordinated by a number of Regional Representatives.
A Newsletter is published annually for members in March/April. Members are encouraged to submit contributions on any aspect of sailing with Vancouvers, including technical notes as well as their voyage and cruising experiences. The Newsletter Archive can be accessed from the Members' Pages
There is an annual Association Membership Subscription of £15 per boat (or member without boat) to cover administrative costs and to support the development, maintenance and hosting of this website.
